Our Small Groups

We see our Small Groups at the building blocks of the Church. Christianity was never intended to be a ‘solo ride’. In fact, Christianity finds its most fulfilling and wonderful expression when people live, act and work in community – as friends, brothers and sisters in Christ. We have several active Ministry Groups which meet either in the morning, afternoon or evening on various days of the week. We encourage you to contact our office so we can place you in a Ministry Group where you will develop lifelong friendships.

Request to join a small group:

Be Connected

Be Connected offers an opportunity for St John’s parishioners to get to know each other a bit better in the context of church; even if it is just to get to recognise each other, know each other’s names and say “hello!”

The parish roll is divided alphabetically into smaller groups of less than 20 people and each group has an “Ambassador.” This name was suggested by the late Bishop Eric and based on 2 Corinthians 5:20. ” We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”

On joining, as members of St John’s, people are assigned to a group and the Ambassador of the group will contact them to welcome them. It is hoped that an informal network of friendship and fellowship will form and grow in a natural, non-threatening way under the guidance of the Holy Spirit giving parishioners a sense of connectedness in the family of God.

Young Adults

At St. John’s we are blessed to be a healthy multi-generational family of believers. Within this part of the vineyard of the body of Christ is our very own Young Adults Cell Group. Our cell group is comprised of a beautifully diverse group of people. Not only young people from St. John’s but from our sister parishes in our diocese as well as those from other denominations. So we are a real kingdom-orientated group. Our ages range from nineteen years of age and upwards. Happening every Wednesday @ 7PM.

A-Men Men’s Ministry

Join our Men’s Group for a powerful monthly gathering, held on the last Thursday of each month at 7pm. This is a space where faith meets fellowship, where we strengthen our bond with God and each other. Be part of a community that supports, uplifts, and inspires. Together, we’ll explore the Word, share stories, and grow in our journey as Christian men. Mark your calendar and come as you are, ready to connect and deepen your faith. We look forward to welcoming you with open arms. See you there! Chat to Andrew for more info.

Grief Support

Embrace healing and hope within our Grief Support Group, convening on the second Friday of each month at 10am. In the midst of loss, we find strength in faith and in each other. Join us for a nurturing and empathetic environment where your pain is understood, your tears are welcome, and your heart is held. Together, we’ll walk the path of grief, share stories, and seek solace in prayer. You don’t have to journey through grief alone; let us be your source of comfort. Mark your calendar and connect with us; healing begins here, in the embrace of community and faith. Chat to Michelle for more info.
