What a joyous evening we shared last night at the launch of our Women’s Ministry – WOW, Women of Wisdom! As I reflect on the gathering, my heart overflows with happiness and joy as after four years of women’s ministry being absent from our parish, it is once again alive. It was truly a beautiful sight to see so many women come together to celebrate this new journey of sisterhood. Hallelujah, hallelujah!!

The atmosphere was filled with warmth, laughter, and a palpable sense of God’s presence. As we lifted the roof with our praise and worship, one sister arrived late and said that as she walked in the front door, it sounded like angels singing.

God’s abundant love was evident in the sharing of delicious snacks, new friendships being formed and the laying on of hands in prayer, as we celebrated being sisters in Christ and our hopes and vision for this ministry.

Our coming together is not just about fellowship, though that is precious. It’s about growing closer to God and becoming the women He has called us to be. Proverbs 31:30 reminds us, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”. Together, we will encourage each other as we deepen our faith and live out our calling.

The theme for our Women’s Ministry is Women of Wisdom, and what better way to kick off this ministry than by studying what the Word of God has to say about wisdom. Proverbs 31:25-26 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness”.

This verse is a reminder that as women, we are covered in the strength and wisdom of our Heavenly Father, and it is our duty to use it to encourage and uplift one another. And just so our menfolk don’t feel left out – this verse is for all of God’s beloved! And we did mention you once or twice!

Throughout the evening, we also talked about the importance of growing closer to God and how this ministry will provide opportunities for us to do so. As it says in James 4:8, “Come near to God, and he will come near to you”. Let us continue to come near to God in prayer, studying His Word, and building a community of believers who support and encourage one another in our faith.

Amen Corner is our Men’s ministry and I encourage all our menfolk to go along and be blessed as you fellowship with other men of God, coming together to seek His face as we grow in our spiritual lives.

As we move forward, let us hold fast to the promise in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” and Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching”.

God has begun something beautiful in our midst, and He will faithfully continue it.

Our fellowship is a gift, a place where we can inspire each other to live out our faith boldly and with grace.

I am excited for all that God has in store for our WOW ministry. Let us continue to lean on Him, support one another, and seek His wisdom in all we do. May we be women who not only hear God’s Word but live it out, reflecting His light to those around us.

With love in Christ,
Michelle
