Last Saturday morning we woke up to a very grey day – the weather forecast predicting heavy rain was evident and not looking positive for our annual Mission Fete. We had diligently prepared Plan A, Plan B and were orchestrating Plan C, when we were reminded of Plan G – Plan God! For anything in life we must remember to lean into Plan G –who is much more powerful than the rest of Letterland together.
So we took on the day with God in control – Hallelujah!!! And He most certainly reigned supreme – Hallelujah Hallelujah 🙌🙌.
Promptly at 8am the front doors opened, and a steady stream of people started pouring in. Our beautiful church grounds had been transformed into a vibrant carnival of colours and sounds. Stalls adorned with eye-catching displays from the White Elephant to jewellery and ornaments, art and vintage clothing, a fabulous farmstall, pancakes, candyfloss and sweet treats of all kinds to anything green for your garden – all offering their treasure trove of unique items. And of course, our Book stall, surpassing previous years with an abundance of books enticing bookworms and curious minds.
The tantalising aroma of delicious eats wafted through the air, directing noses to the Food Tent on the Village Green, where one could get scrumptious bites from Breakfast Buns to Vetkoek and mince. The air was filled with laughter, conversations, and the joyous atmosphere of people coming together for a meaningful cause and the presence of God was tangible – this was a celebration of the Body of Christ in action – united in purpose and love, to make a difference to our missionaries spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan and Lesotho.
When we place our trust in God’s Plan – Plan G, we surrender our plans to Him – we learn to rely on His wisdom, guidance and support and when we do this our faith is strengthened.
In our own lives Plan G is paramount – remembering that incorporating Plan G into our daily lives is a continuous process that requires faith, patience and a willingness to surrender. When we do this, we experience God’s peace and guidance in every step of our day. We have many promises in Scripture that we can trust and lean on –
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.”
Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
Isaiah 41:13 “For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.”
Praise God! Our Mission Fete was a phenomenal success – not only in raising funds for our missionaries but also in unifying the Body of Christ and instilling in each of us a sense of purpose and compassion in our hearts. Together with our brothers and sisters in far off lands we are part of God’s tapestry of love and compassion sharing the love of Christ with open arms and open hearts.
Plan G all the way!
Much love
