This past week I have been reflecting on living in the dance of God’s love as we continue to navigate through the joys and challenges of life. The idea of dancing evokes feelings of joy, freedom, and harmony. And that is exactly how our relationship with God should be – a beautiful dance of love, grace, and mercy.

The Father reaches out in love – inviting us to dance;

The Son connects with us in Love – drawing us into the dance;

The Spirit enfolds us in Love – teaching us to dance.

So let us abandon ourselves to the joy of the dance with the Trinity of Love.

In the book of Zephaniah 3:17, the Lord says, The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. How amazing is it to know that our God delights in us and wants to dance with us? He longs for us to experience His love and to reciprocate it with our whole hearts.

Living in the dance of God’s love begins with understanding how much He loves us. In John 3:16, we are reminded that For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. This is the ultimate expression of love – that God sent His one and only Son to save us from our sins and to give us eternal life. May this truth sink deeply into our hearts and shape our daily lives. God’s love is not just a theory or concept, but a reality that we can experience in our daily lives. Let us open our hearts to His love and dance with Him.

As we partner with God in this dance of love, we must also learn to let go of anything that hinder our growth and steps. In 1 John 4:18, we read, There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. Let us surrender our fears, doubts, and worries to God and allow His perfect love to cast them out. Only then can we fully embrace His love and dance in freedom. May we never underestimate the power of love. It can break down walls, heal wounds, and bring restoration.

Living in the dance of God’s love also means extending that love to others. In 1 John 4:7-8, we are told, Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. As followers of Christ, we are called to embody Gods love and extend it to those around us. Let us not be afraid to love and show compassion, for in doing so, we are reflecting the love of our Heavenly Father. Paul encourages us in his letter to the Galatians in 5:13 to serve one another humbly in love. As we step in rhythm with God’s love, we find ourselves naturally inclined to meet the needs of others, offering support, compassion, and assistance. Whether it’s volunteering at a local shelter or within our church family, comforting a grieving friend, or simply offering a listening ear, we become vessels of God’s love in action.

Living in the dance of God’s love also means trusting in His guidance and sovereignty. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” As we surrender to the rhythm of God’s love, we find peace in knowing that He is leading us, even when the steps seem uncertain.

Living in the dance of God’s love is a lifelong journey, filled with moments of joy, challenges, and growth. As we continue to step in time with His love, we find ourselves transformed, becoming more like Christ and reflecting His light to the world around us. So let us embrace the dance, allowing God’s love to lead us, guide us, and fill us with the grace to love others as He loves us.

No matter where you are in your journey with God, know that He loves you and desires to dance with you. He is always ready to welcome you back to the dance floor.

Let us not be afraid to live in the dance of God’s love. Instead, let us embrace it with all that we are and spread it wherever we go.

In His love and grace,
Michelle
